WELCOME TO MISSION CONTROL

September 2, 2007

Hey, folks. I am Mr. Fodchuk. I put this site together to help you learn more about literature, yourself, and the nature of humanity. I believe you will find this course to be one of the most difficult yet rewarding intellectual exercises of your high school career.

This section of my site is invaluable to your success in AP Literature & Composition this year. You can use it to download handouts, class notes, multi-media presentations and podcasts of important lectures. There is a calendar feature that lists the itinerary for each class, including outside readings and homework assignments. From this page, you can access the threaded dialog board to extend classroom discussions. Finally, you can track the dates, times and locations of the many extra-curricular activities associated with the class.

Take some time to explore the many resources available to you by clicking on the menu selections in the top-right portion of the screen. Let's get started!

THE DIGITAL PORTFOLIO INTERVIEW PROJECT

September 1, 2007

The Digital Portfolio Interview Project is a central component of your study in AP Literature & Composition. Over the course of this academic year, you will author and refine a number of challenging assignments. You will compile a digital copy of your best efforts on a CD-ROM, which will eventually be submitted to professors from Old Dominion University, Wesleyan University, Norfolk State University and Tidewater Community College. Once they have previewed your work, you will meet in a formal interview setting to reflect on your development as a reader, writer and thinker throughout the year.

To this end, please be aware that everything we cover in class will not only help you better appreciate literature and succeed on the College Board examination in May, it is specifically designed to assist in the defense of your year's work in June.
